Ultim Studio partnered with Lenster to help them understand more about their users and redesign their web3 social media platform. During the sprint, our team created a form that was sent out to all Lenster users and did a full redesign of the product to address the survey findings.
Goal
Lenster is a web3-based social media platform that at its peak had over 130K DAU. Our mission was to understand why users were thrilled to come back to the platform, redesign the UX based on those findings, and create a new and refreshed design.
Challenge
The main challenge was addressing low-hanging fruits of the UX, meaning the 20% of actions that amounted for 80% of the reasons people were coming back to the platform. We had the quantitative data but were missing the qualitative one. We took 2 weeks to research what delighted users and how we can refocus the UX to address that.
Solution
By tackling these and many other points, we delivered a fully user-tested prototype that not only delighted everyone but was also easy to understand by people who’ve never used a web3 social media platform before.
Our team discovered that:
Not everyone on Lenster knew they can make money through posting
People were missing an element of conversation depth
People wanted more relevant content from people they don’t follow
We’ve addressed these by:
Education on how you can make money while posting
We’ve included the element of “Threads” so that creators can go deeper on a certain subject
Introduce a "for you" tab on the timeline that would include content from people they don’t follow
Results
Offered the team more insights into how and why users were interacting with Lentser
Offered a clean and powerful design that solved users pain points
Delighted users through a strong UI
Earned users' loyalty by listening and implementing direct feedback
Created a base for expanding the product through a solid design system
