Ultim Studio partnered with ZeroDev as their founding design team to create one of the first Account Abstraction wallets showcasing their powerful technology. During the Sprint, our team worked closely with Derek, the founder of ZeroDev, informing him on the step-by-step process that would finally bring to light the right solution.
Goal
Derek wanted to create a simple interface that allows web3 developers to plug in and reap the benefits of account abstraction for their users. Our mission was simple: create the best representation based on Derek's requirements and our own assumptions about the users and the product.
Challenge
The main challenge was making this new interface easy to use for new crypto users as well as experienced ones. Connecting your AA wallet to other dapps requires going through WalletConnect URI, and an extra layer of education had to be added here. Our team patiently tested out the prototype with users until they were sure both new and experienced users had no problem completing the tasks.
Solution
The output of the design sprint was an interactive prototype that included all of Derek's requests but also our assumptions.
During the usability tests, our team discovered that:
Users were unsure if they created a wallet or not because there was no seed phrase (very normal process in AA)
Users weren't sure how to connect their wallet to Opensea
More experienced users didn't understand the term of "Free transaction" (very common in AA wallets)
We've addressed these by:
Created a tooltip called "What is an AA wallet" informing users on the new technology
We created an instructional step-by-step guide on how to connect the AA wallet to other dapps
We used a learn more tooltip to explain what a free transaction is
Results
Offered Derek more insights on how people were reacting to AA
Offered a clean and powerful design that solved users pain points
Delighted users through a strong UI
Created a base for expanding the product through a solid design system.
